As the healthcare profession grows, clinicians are increasingly exposed to death and dying. Initial training is very limited on how to deliver death notifications to family and loved ones.

The importance of clinical education and training on how to properly notify family and loved ones cannot be understated . This course will teach the clinician valuable tools to assist with "Breaking Bad News" to family and loved ones with empathy, education and comfort when delivering death and dying notifications.

Students will receive the necessary guideance on:

* Proper use of the GRIEV_ING Protocol

* Respond compassionately to the grief expressed by families and survisors

* Apply rules of active listening during and after the notification of the passing of a loved one

* Demonstrate the impact of nonverbal communication
