Guidelines for Submitting Public Records Requests
To Request Records, please fill out and submit the Records Request Form.
No records or document shall be released to any employee, citizen, or organization without written request, unless authorized by the Fire Chief or designate.
At no time shall the following be authorized for release except by legal counsel, search warrant or subpoena, or state statute of immunity, or after review by the Fire Chief.
- Inspection files and records
- Construction files and records
- Investigative files and records
- Personnel issues, files, and records
- Medical reports
- Police issues
- Patient information
The following and records are authorized to release:
- Any document or record of information, allowed by law with immunity, may be released, i.e., investigation files that can be shared with insurance or police agencies.
- Front page of a fire operation report
Any of the previously mentioned records above may be released by Chief Officers if a person has the proper credentials and identification. Prior to the release, the fire report must be typed and filled out. Original reports shall remain in the file.
A copy of the person's credentials and identification shall be made for the file. The signed request for information shall be included with the file.
